Minneapolis church vandalism classified as hate crime
MINNEAPOLIS—Police in Minneapolis have classified vandalism found last week at a predominately GLBT church on the city’s south side as a hate crime.
A church employee at All God’s Children Metropolitan Community Church found the vandalism early Oct. 7. Someone had spray-painted a pentagram and an inscription, “Slay the priest,” on an outside wall of the church.
Following investigation, police said last week they have reason to believe that the vandalism was done by someone who’s biased against the church. They did not elaborate on what led them to draw that conclusion. The church is located at 31st Street and Park Avenue in Minneapolis.
