Obama urged to cut ties to anti-gay supporter

SAN DIEGO—A group of high school football players has apologized to a rival’s girls’ volleyball team for heckling.

About a dozen Mission Hills High School football players sat on the Valley Center High School’s side of the court Oct. 11 and yelled “whores” and “lesbians” at the volleyball team, said Diana Sourbeer, a parent who was at the game watching her daughter play.

About 20 football players representing Mission Hills went to Valley Center Oct. 15 with their athletic director to apologize after parents complained.

Mission Hills Principal Brad Lichtman said the players would be disciplined but declined to say how.
